Hello everybody !

I have a little question for you.
What are you doing when you ask some artist the permission to use one of his work and you have no response from him ?
The context is:
- No mention that we have no right to use his work
- Several reminders and still no answer after 3 month (by mail, by notes on DA, by asking directly in the comment zone of the work...)

What would you do in this case ?
Would you publish your own work based on the artists work anyway ? or would you give up your project ?

Thank you very much for your answers.

PS: I ask because it's the first time that I'm facing this kind of problem. Usually I have always an answer, but not in this case

Hi everybody !

Since I'm on DA and publish my abstract creations, I saw many comments saying that fractal art is not really art because it's the computer who's really working, not the artist.
This is a point that can be discussed a long time as it depend on the approach you have of the creation process. But I must say that I agree with such comments when, and only when, the artist only push a button on his computer and publish directly the result without working further on it.

But this is not the case in my work.
Even if it's true that I use the filter "Fractalius" in most of my works, I'm using it in the same way as any other photoshop filter like the blur or deformation filters for example. It's just a "step" in my process, intended to give me a direction. But besides that, there are hours of work with more traditional tools like the brush tool, the pen tool, the fluidity tool and more...

And in many cases, the final result arises from the magic of merging layers in several ways !

And based on this approach, my opinion is that fractal art in general, and my art in particular, is the result of a creative process and is therefore also art.

I wish to all of you a Happy New Year 2012 !
